1. Place an indoor water fountain on the
northeast side. This position is a favorable area to attract whatever you
want inn your life.
2. If you already have an aquarium, fishbowl or
similar water feature in your house, place them carefully. Feng Shui advises
you to avoid them in bedrooms. Since the north is ruled by the water
element, a fish tank placed correctly can bring about greater fortune, as
you will tap on the "Divine Water Dragon's Den". But if you tap wrongly, it
can cause you to have lawsuits, bankruptcy, work pressure, troubles and
problems. If you noticed any of these after placing a fish tank for
approximately four months, shift your fish tank to another location.
3. Your bed should always have a solid wall
behind it. A secure headboard backed by a solid wall, wnough space under the
bed for air to circulate and no stored clutter beneath will ensure that you
wake up in the morning feeling fresh and well rested.
4. There should be no exposed beam above your
bed. Such a beam is oppressive and divisive. Therefore, don't place any
furniture underneath it. In fact anything hanging over a bed is a disturbing
influence.
5. Modern interpretation of Feng Shui say there
should be no television sets, stereo sets or computers in your bedroom.
Electromagnetic waves generated by such appliances will disturb the sleep
patterns of sensitive individuals. If you must keep them there turn them off
well before bedtime and cover with a heavy cloth.
6. There should be no mirrors reflecting your
bed. A turned off television screen also has a reflective surface like a
mirror. Mirrors relecting a sleeping couple are thought to create discord
between them. Therefore position them elsewhere or have them build inside
wardrobe doors.
7. Don't sleep on a double bed with two
separated single mattresses because this creates friction in a marriage.
(Two separate single beds are not a problem however). Also never sleep with
your feet directly facing the door, because this was the traditional
position to lay out a dead person before the funeral.
8. use restful colours in children's rooms.
Provide storage for toys and books so that they can be put away at night. A
rrom in the east which receives the sunrise is perfect for a growing child.
9. Use natural material to furnish a child's
room. A study desk should be placed so that the child doesn't sit with his
back to the door, which would tend to make him restless. The child should
face the door with a solid wall behind him. A picture of a mountain hung on
that wall will provide extra support.
10. Do not allow children to sleep on bund beds
even it means saying space. They depress the chi of both children. The one
on the top bunk is too close to the ceiling and the one below is cramped by
having another child, often a fidgety sleeper, directly above him. Canopies
over children's beds are also avoidable for the same reason. It hampers the
free flow of chi. Hanging up wind chimes and crystal globes will encourage
good energies.
11. Always open your bedroom windows for at
least 20 minutes a day. We do this so that it allows frest new chi to
circulate in your bedroom; if not, you would be sleeping with stale chi
every night. So open that window and never mind if dust comes in. |
