Dark chocolate contains disease fighting
antioxidants. Japanese tests on human blood samples found that antioxidants
extracted from chocolate suppressed cell-damaging chemicals and boosted
immune function. And the British Medical Journal has reported that people
who regularly eat chocolate live up to a year longer than those who avoid it
altogether. That study, which examined health records of 7,841 men, found
that individuals who ate modest amounts of dark chocolate candy bars (from
one to three a month ) had a 36 percent lower risk of death than those who
abstained. |
