Cleaning Brass
Wash brass ices in hot soapy
water, and dry before polishing. You can use a commercial polish on brass of
half a lemon dipped in salt. Wet tamarind is most used in rural India and it
works well. If the brass piece isn't used in cooking, you can slow the
tarnishing process by applying a thin coat of floor-polishing paste wax.
(this is particularly good for outdoor brass hardware such as doorknobs or
locks) |

To slow famishing on
delicate brass items, rub them with a thin coat of lemon oil (expensive), or
give it a coat of polyurethane wood finish using fine haired painting brush.
